Its a new year and we're going on our second year of weekly produce deliveries with Farmhouse Delivery.
We've decided to try ordering as many of our groceries through them as we can. This was decision was cemented after I recently made Asian Dumpling Soup with Richardson Farms ground pork- it tasted so much better with this pork!
Here's the plan: Create a weekly menu using the produce deliveries and supplement with meats, baked goods, pasta, dairy, herbs, etc. also from Farmhouse to produce 3-4 dinners. Dinners are for 4 providing us with leftovers for lunch.
Thursdays are planning days- we get the list of the following week's produce along with an order form for other items. Tuesdays are delivery days- when all our produce and goodies arrive ready for eating!
This week we're playing catch-up from the holidays so we're just doing 2 dinners from the produce box:
- Roasted Carrot and Avocado Salad
- From the Farm: 1 bunch carrots, 1 avocado, 1 orange, 2 cloves green garlic, mixed greens
- Aloo Gobi/Cauliflower Curry with Jasmine Rice and Raita
- From the Farm: 1 giant cauliflower, 1 clove green garlic
- Roasted Butternut Squash Salad with Hazelnuts & Manchego and Cauliflower Soup
- From the Farm: 1 butternut squash, salad greens, 1 cauliflower, maybe some onion & green garlic
- Chorizo, Poblano and yam Fajitas with Guacamole...and maybe El Salvadoran Pineapple-Pickled Cabbage
- From the Farm: 2 sweet potatoes, chorizo, buttermilk tortillas, 2 avocados, cilantro...and maybe more of that huge green cabbage from this week.
- Pork Schnitzle with Greens, Spaetzle and Lemon Brown Butter
- From the Farm: 1 lb pork cutlet, 1 bunch each mustard and collard greens
- Scallops with Cabbage and Capers....and maybe Green Onion Pancakes
- From the Farm: cabbage, cabbage, and more cabbage
- Kalamata Olive Fettucine with Arugula Pesto and a Mystery Veggie (we'll see what Farmhouse delivers...broccoli or maybe beets?)
- From the Farm: fettucine, arugula, green garlic, mystery veggie
We'll see how it goes- hopefully we're able to get the bulk of our groceries from the local farms and foodies!
